Beyond providing updates on the program, the seminar created an opportunity for direct dialogue between experts and investors, focusing on practical topics of particular interest, including investment strategies ahead of the September 30, 2026 milestone, Adjustment of Status (AOS), Concurrent Filing, and key considerations when evaluating an EB-5 project.

A Multi-Dimensional Perspective on EB-5: Investment, Immigration Law, and Opportunities in the U.S. Market

One of the highlights of the seminar was the participation of four speakers bringing professional experience and perspectives from different fields:

  • Mr. Kenny Nguyen – CEO, National EB-5 Wealth Center

  • Ms. Clara Thanh Nguyen – Deputy Director of Operations, National EB-5 Wealth Center

  • Mr. Michael Cao – U.S. Immigration Attorney, CAO & Associates P.C.

  • Mr. Travis Mitchell – CEO, AmCham Vietnam

The combination of perspectives on investment, case operations, immigration law, and the U.S.–Vietnam business environment provided attendees with a more comprehensive view of EB-5, rather than approaching the program solely as a pathway to U.S. immigration.

Building an EB-5 Strategy Ahead of the September 30, 2026 Milestone

During the seminar, Mr. Kenny Nguyen – CEO of National EB-5 Wealth Center discussed the current EB-5 landscape with investors and highlighted important factors to consider when developing an investment strategy ahead of the September 30, 2026 milestone.

Rather than focusing solely on the question of “when to invest,” the discussion addressed a broader consideration: what should investors prepare in order to make decisions aligned with their families’ long-term goals?

An EB-5 strategy should be considered from multiple perspectives, including immigration objectives, financial planning, filing timelines, and project evaluation and selection. Preparing early can give investors additional time to research and compare available options while remaining more proactive in responding to potential future changes.

This was also one of the key messages National EB-5 Wealth Center sought to convey throughout the seminar: EB-5 should not be viewed as an isolated decision, but rather as part of a long-term strategy involving investment, immigration, and a family’s future.

From Strategy to the Practical EB-5 Process

In addition to the strategic perspective, Ms. Clara Thanh Nguyen – Deputy Director of Operations at National EB-5 Wealth Center shared insights from the operational side of implementing an EB-5 plan and supporting investors throughout the process.

Clara Thanh Nguyen discusses the practical EB-5 process

In practice, the EB-5 journey involves multiple stages and requires coordination between investors and various professional parties. Therefore, beyond selecting an appropriate investment opportunity, document preparation, process management, and the ability to proactively address issues that may arise also play important roles.

These practical insights helped attendees better understand that an effective EB-5 plan should be developed systematically from the beginning rather than starting solely with the selection of a project.

Addressing AOS, Concurrent Filing, and Key Legal Considerations

The legal perspective at the seminar was presented by Attorney Michael Cao of CAO & Associates P.C., who discussed the U.S. immigration process and legal considerations relevant to EB-5 investors.

In particular, Adjustment of Status (AOS) and Concurrent Filing were among the topics that generated significant interest during the program. These are specialized matters that depend on each investor’s individual circumstances. Direct discussions with an immigration attorney therefore provided attendees with a clearer understanding of the concepts, requirements, and factors to consider when developing an immigration plan for their families.

The session also reinforced the importance of approaching EB-5 from both investment and immigration perspectives, with appropriate professionals involved at different stages of the process.

Expanding the Conversation from EB-5 to the U.S.–Vietnam Business Environment

The participation of Mr. Travis Mitchell – CEO of AmCham Vietnam added another perspective to the discussion, focusing on the business environment and connections between Vietnam and the United States.

For many investors, a plan to move to the United States may extend beyond immigration objectives. It may also relate to their children’s education, career development, business expansion, or access to a new market.

Perspectives on U.S.–Vietnam business relations and the international business environment therefore broadened the seminar discussion, placing EB-5 within a larger picture of the long-term development strategies of Vietnamese families and entrepreneurs.

Key Considerations When Selecting an EB-5 Project

Another topic that attracted significant attention during the seminar was EB-5 project selection.

Rather than focusing solely on a project’s initial highlights, investors should consider multiple aspects, including the investment structure, use of funds, job creation, project development progress, repayment strategy, and other factors that may affect their immigration objectives.

Understanding the nature of the investment and conducting careful evaluation before making a decision are important components of an investor’s risk-management strategy.

Through the seminar discussions, National EB-5 Wealth Center sought to encourage investors to move beyond simply “finding an EB-5 project” toward a more comprehensive approach: developing an EB-5 strategy aligned with their individual objectives, circumstances, and long-term plans.

Direct Dialogue Between Experts and Investors

In addition to the professional presentations, the live Q&A session was another notable part of the EB-5 Seminar.

Investors had the opportunity to discuss practical questions directly with the speakers regarding the EB-5 process, project selection, AOS, Concurrent Filing, and considerations involved in developing investment and immigration plans in the United States.

These direct exchanges created an important dimension of the seminar: information was not simply delivered in one direction but developed into a meaningful dialogue between professionals and the investor community.
